Your contest annoucement ======================== 21JUL2007 Drew Arnett Torrey Pines Gulls The following is a rough outline or checklist for things you may want to include in your contest announcement. An example follows. Cover: WHO WHAT WHY WHERE WHEN HOW WHO CD (and other officials) participants (ie, club members, non club members, AMA only, ...) WHAT briefly state type of contest tasks any additional activity WHY ex. the TPG HLG monthly contest series is about club activity WHERE location WHEN registration deadline pilot's meeting start of contest expected duration HOW safety location specific rules (ie, Poway thermal field rules) any standard rule set that may apply (AMA, F3K, etc.) deviations from standard rules 14JUL2007 TPG HLG Contest Announcement ====================================== Everyone, The next TPG HLG contest will be on the 14th of July. Registration is on field. You must be signed in before the pilots meeting. Pilots meeting will be at 945a sharp, and the first heat starts at 10a. I'd like to do F3K tasks during the latter half of the year. This month, we'll do 5 of the 8 tasks: B, C, E, H, I, and J. I'd really like to try to do all 8 F3K tasks in one day, but that will have to be later in the year sometime. Rules will be F3K proposal as published in MAR2007 issue of RCSD. Exceptions to the rules will be: field rules prevail (see club website), no official timekeepers, field size as is, one class only, assist launchers on an as needed basis to be arranged with the CD at the time of registration, frequency assignment per regional casual standards, preparation time will not be provided during the previous heat's working or landing time, two minutes of flight test time will be provided, but 5 minutes of preparation time is not guaranteed, CD's word is final on all matters, and flight in the no fly zone will result in the offending plane tossed into the woodchipper and offending transmitter to follow. Whether to round up, round even, or truncate will be announced at the meeting. Please read through the entire F3K rules. Sure, everyone has flown all of the tasks, but the whole feel of the event will be a bit different. The is a low key, low stress event, so if you screw up, it'll only cost you some razzing. --Drew arnett.drew@gmail.com
